Moms on the Way

Book cover for "Moms on the Way" a 7-week Bible study experience by Tara Edelschick and Kathy Tuan-MacLean.

Sometimes motherhood feels like you're running on autopilot, moving so fast that you forget where you're going. Other times it feels like you're just trying to hold it all together while working through a never-ending list of errands.

But Jesus' invitation to follow him isn't limited to people with empty calendars and picture-perfect families. It's for moms waiting in carpool lines, cheering from the bleachers, and pacing outside a doctor's office. It's for moms who are tired, overwhelmed, running late, and somehow still trying to be faithful.

Moms on the Way invites moms of all ages to journey through the challenges of motherhood together. With weekly teaching videos, it offers groups a simple, practical way to share honestly, encourage one another, and meet God in the middle of it all.

Moms on the Way

"I lead a Bible discussion twice a month for a small group of busy moms—it's considered a good month if a mom makes it to both! Moms on the Way is a gift of grace and common sense as well as a guide for deepening discipleship to help us breathe as well as pray while following Jesus and changing diapers!"

— Robbie Castleman, author of Parenting in the Pew, Story-Shaped Worship, and New Testament Essentials

"This Bible study meets moms right where they are at—in the mess and beauty of everyday life. With refreshing honesty and humor, Kathy Tuan-MacLean and Tara Edelschick testify to how Jesus has met them in their resentment and shame and brought about transformation by embracing vulnerability and receiving grace. This isn't a typical study with tidy answers; it's an invitation toward deeper faith, freedom, and lasting change."

— Joyce Koo Dalrymple, director of the Center for Women in Ministry at Northern Seminary and author of Women of the New Testament and Redeeming Eden

Knowing both of these women a bit, I sat right down and read their manuscript. Kathy Tuan-MacLean and Tara Edelschick are women and mothers I trust to be honest, biblically astute, creative, and in solidarity with Jesus. Chapter by chapter, they navigate the overwhelm of shame, loneliness, vulnerability, resentment, bitterness, busyness, and more that accompany the complicated lives of moms today. Moms on the Way is not only about biblical study and information; Kathy and Tara provide portable exercises, practices, habits, and prayers that connect daily circumstances with the presence of Jesus. I wish I had had this book when I had children in my home.
