When God Invites Us To Embrace Vulnerability

Moms know vulnerability. Eighty-five percent of moms in our survey hated being vulnerable, had a hard time asking for help, or feared that the world would take advantage of their children’s weaknesses and vulnerability.

This week, we study the story of the Shunamite woman in 2 Kings 4, a dynamo we’ll call Shona. God sees Shona’s locked-up longing. Her story is good news: God wants more than our gifts and our grit - God wants access to the tender places we keep hidden. Our vulnerability is safe with God.

This week, as we study Shona’s story, moms will have the chance to:

  • experience God reviving long buried dreams

  • share with God just how vulnerable having children makes them feel

  • learn to cling to God as they wait for God to answer their prayers

  • experience the freedom and softness that comes with embracing our vulnerability

  • recognize the ways they already embody the Proverbs 31 woman
